Line Dance
Learning some classic and newer line dances is easy with classes offered at the Rec. Department building. Line Dance is a great stress reducer as well as good exercise, providing much of the same benefits as low-impact aerobics. Increase energy, improve strength and muscle. Age is no factor. And you can build your stamina while having fun! Come with a friend or spouse or come alone; you don’t need a partner for line dance.
Ultra Beginner classes are offered monthly in 4-week sessions: Monday evening from 7:10 PM – 8 PM or Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM – 9:50 AM. Cost is $20/month and registration & prepayment are required (pay at the first class of the month). Basic dance steps are taught slowly and practiced to Absolute Beginner level dances.
Beginner to Improver/Intermediate level line dances are taught on Monday evening from 5:00 PM– 7:00 PM and on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM – Noon. These classes provide a variety of dances from Absolute Beginner to Improver/Intermediate levels at a cost of $7 per class. Knowledge of basic dance steps is most helpful (jazz box, vine R & L, lock step, shuffle, etc.)
The instructor is Joyce Gossard (email gossard@outlook.com for more info or to register for the Ultra Beginner Class). You are welcome to observe one class for free.
